A Guidance Dream In The Midst Of Questioning A Challenging Situation

Have you ever been in a situation where you had doubts about whether you were in the right place or if you needed to be somewhere else? Well, I have! In fact, the place where I have been staying all this year has raised a number of questions about whether I’m really in the right place or if another move is required. After wondering about this dilemma for the last few months, I finally had a dream that shows exactly what’s going on and what would happen if I were to pack up and move. Here’s the dream and how I understood the message…

A Dream Of Bad Conditions & Outcomes

November 21, 2023 – (Before midnight…) I’m with a guy from the past (name withheld, a guy I was in college with). We are going skiing but we start off at one resort but then go to another for no apparent reason (seemed the first one was perfectly good). When we get to the second resort, I’m checking the snow with a golf club. Seems there’s something weird about it and it’s not the best. I start thinking that I don’t want to spend more money on this second resort because it’s like spending twice on the same thing which we already had better at the first resort. Lastly, I’m up on the ski runs at this second resort and the snow is so thin you can see the grass thru it (very bad).

Here are the primary symbols explained…

  • Guy from past = represents me in this context, according to my past knowledge of this guy, he was not a very stable person and did things without good reasons, very “flighty” (this represents the old ways of the flesh); this is God’s way of telling me that my thought process of leaving is not based on faith.
  • Skiing = a common personal symbol for me because I am a long time avid skier, represents making fast progress by faith or doing something that is very well suited to me (more specifically, refers to my assignment in Colorado to start my invention business).
  • Switching = (locations / ski resorts) my thought process of leaving Colorado and going elsewhere without a good reason; this represents doubt and double mindedness.
  • Golf club = a sport that requires a lot of walking and accuracy… this represents walking by faith and following prophetic words that speak of your future, requiring accuracy in how you take action based on the instructions.
  • Bad snow = bad conditions, this is a warning not to think the “snow is whiter on the other side”, this was God’s way of showing that packing up and moving to another state will end up going badly and waste money.
  • Spending twice = a warning that moving will waste resources and time and produce nothing good.
  • Timing = (before midnight) normally, my dreams occur during the 2-6 AM hours; historically, anytime I get a dream very early in the night, especially before midnight, it is often a very important message.

Here’s the main point… according to the message in this very recent dream, I am remaining in Colorado until such time as God gives a different instruction. Based on many other recent dreams, everything I’ve been waiting for will be happening soon and suddenly. At that time, everything will suddenly fall into place and all the mysteries regarding how things will happen will be resolved.

Real Life Commentary & Lessons Learned

Beyond the fact that this dream gave me the answer to my question about whether I am still living in the right place, there is something else noteworthy here. Just as in a previous dream I wrote about regarding a shopping research project, God waited a very long time before giving me the answer I had been asking for repeatedly.

If we go back to the symbol of a golf club, God was giving a hint that the key to this mystery was not in trying to do things quickly but, in exercising humility by walking out a process in life where we do not have all the answers up front. That point right there has been one of the biggest challenges for me due to my past decades where I lived according to collecting information and making decisions based on what was most logical.

Pride is the opposite of faith; pride of mind requires knowing everything up front. Faith requires humility to follow God even when it contradicts what our 10% functioning brain can come up with.

Contrarily, in recent years, I’ve had to learn that God does not want us living according to the tree of knowledge! In order to attain the highest levels of relationship with God, we must develop the same faith as Abraham, who did things that made no sense and did not constantly question God at every turn! If you are a western minded person as myself, you will most likely have an extremely hard time getting past the intellectual barriers that prevent doing exactly as Abraham did (which, by the way, Moses was also not able to do).

Relevant Bible Passages

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Romans 6:6 (KJV)

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

James 1:6-8 (KJV)

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

Hebrews 11:8-9 (KJV)

And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

Romans 4:12 (KJV)

And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Matthew 2:12 (KJV)

But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee: And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

Matthew 2:22-23 (KJV)

Action!

When you need answers regarding decisions in your life, always ask God and wait for His answer! Do according to my dream above and do not rush out according to your own flesh before God tells you what to do.
