I just recently had an amazing conversation with some people at a Christmas party that surprisingly led to a long talk about dreams. These were people who believed strongly in the message of dreams but had no real sense that they came from God. What amazed me was how easily the conversation developed and that we could easily discuss things in a way that, at times, had been very difficult with many others. When I mentioned that I knew my dreams came from God, one woman asked me how I knew that, rather than them being from “some other entity”. I thought that was a great question but it required a lengthy answer which we did not have time for. But… keep reading because, this is exactly the kind of topic my blogs were originally intended for.
A Great Question With A Long Answer
The woman at the party who asked me about the source of my dreams had a history of extremely vivid dreams since she was a very young child. She had a fair grasp of the meaning of some of them but asked me about a couple of them just to see what I might say. She was very much into meditating and understood the idea that dreams are outside of the limits of our brain when we are awake. Many things she said I could relate to but at first, I did not say anything about my knowledge of dreams as coming from God. I knew this was a seed planting assignment and I wanted to be careful in how I brought up certain topics. I wanted mostly to keep this at a level so we might be able to continue at a later time.
This was primarily about making a friendly acquaintance with someone of different beliefs. Just like Jesus was very approachable, I wanted to be a “friendly evangelist” and use wisdom in not saying too much too quickly. The Bible speaks about planting seeds where one person plants, another waters, but God causes the seed to grow (1 Corinthians 3:6-8). I really wanted this to be a very positive first experience for her in speaking to someone like me with my beliefs.
So when she asked me how I knew dreams came from God, my first thought was… how on earth can I give a good answer to that in only a few minutes! If you think about it, that requires a very lengthy explanation especially when dealing with someone who has very different beliefs. The woman had a great starting point in that she already understood dreams had valid messages, and that they were from outside of the mind’s limits. But, my challenge was, how to connect all that with the idea that these are personal communications from God. That is not exactly something you can “prove” in only a few minutes.
Best Place To Start: A Testimony!
As I attempted to give a very brief starting point, I mentioned that I spent most of my life being programmed by churches to not believe in anything supernatural. I told her how, in 2011, random church people came to me planting seeds that put me on a journey of a spiritual awakening. I explained how this was very hard for me and that I struggled and fought with the idea that there was anything supernatural still in existence today. I said how I was only going to believe all this if I could find sufficient reason to because, I was never going to jump into something head first that later turned out to be a scam.
After I gave an extremely short version of my testimony, I did tell her that I knew people who had face to face appearances from Jesus in dreams and it was overwhelmingly clear that it was THE Jesus, the Son of God, who appeared to them and that there was no way you could fake that! I told her about that because, in our times, there are so many demonic intellectual strongholds that, sometimes the only way to get through to a person is by seeing Jesus face to face.
But, let’s say you have not yet had a visitation by Jesus in a dream. What else could you say to a person to give them reason to believe dreams can contain personal messages from God? This is now what I did not have time for in the Christmas party conversation…
In the next couple years after my journey began in 2011, I started hearing amazing stories from others about the kinds of dreams they had. I heard about how they knew (in advance) that certain things were going to happen in their life and in some cases, even what was going to happen in world events! I was so amazed because it was exactly what we read about in the stories of Daniel and Joseph in the Bible.
These testimonies made me so jealous that I wanted God to do the same thing for me! I began to realize how shocking it was that these people had experienced that, if I had grown up like them, how different my life would have become! I decided that there was no way I was going to live any longer in the dark, without this kind of supernatural element in my life!
How I Started Getting Dreams: Deliberate Action!
So, what did I do to change my life from no dreams to many dreams?! Simple… I asked God repeatedly to give me dreams, just as the people I had been listening to. I kept asking for about 2 months until I finally got my answer. One night, after all my asking, it was like God turned on the faucet full blast and I suddenly started having about 3-4 dreams every single night. Again… This had never happened before for me! Prior to that time, I could only remember maybe 3 dreams in my entire life! Other than asking God as I did, there was nothing else that could justifiably be said to be the reason for why I suddenly started having all these dreams.
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Matthew 21:22 (KJV)
Not only that but, it was the subject of those dreams that clearly pointed to the reality that they were in fact personal messages from God. I could look up the various symbols or scenarios in the Bible and see the correlation between them and what God said. In many cases, my dreams pointed to Bible verses that I did not even know existed! Literally, my dreams became the catalyst for me to learn much more about what God had already told us thousands of years ago right there in the Bible. And… this was happening on a daily basis for me! Again… This had never happened before ever in my life.
So… What Would I Recommend To You?
Ok, so I know exactly what it was like for me to live 40 years with almost no dreams, and no knowledge that the God of the Bible still did supernatural things today. I know how drastically my life changed when I finally started getting my own dreams. I know how those dreams directly lined up with the Bible and that it was God personally communicating with me in these nighttime parables. I know all that I’m saying because it happened to me. But… do I expect that my testimony, by itself, would convince everyone? No, of course not.
So, what would I tell someone as a next step, if I wanted them consider the possibility that at least some of their dreams are from the God of the Bible? I think it would be simply this… just try something new. Try talking to God and ask Him to reveal Himself to you in your dreams. Whether He shows up face to face, or you just begin to notice that your dreams are oddly correlating with what you ask God, keep asking (as I did) and expect to receive your answer. Be deliberate! Don’t just half heartedly ask one time and stop. No. Ask and keep asking until you start to see something you’ve never seen before.
A Real Person, Not A Religion!!
When I say ask, I mean ask everything. Ask any question that comes to mind, including things you don’t think you “should” ask of God. Experiment with this! What do you have to lose? Personally, from my experience, I can guarantee you are going to start getting answers in ways you never have before.
God is a “person” very much like we are. Yes, He’s on a very different level than us but, the reason we do what we do and think like we think has a lot to do with the fact that we are all made in His image and likeness. I say this because, the more you get to know God, the more you will see He absolutely has a personality! He has feelings and likes and dislikes just as we do. He is not some “cosmic impersonal entity” that just sits far away as if merely an information bank in a far away galaxy.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
You will also begin to realize that, unlike what most churches teach, God is NOT “religious”! If you had bad experiences with the church, or its people, you are going to see the proof that most of what the church teaches is complete garbage (just as I found out myself!!) I can promise your new journey will NOT be boring!!
You will learn things you never knew and find out that some of what you suspected all along about our true design was correct! You will discover a purpose for your life that you had never known before… including one of my biggest topics: marvelic supernatural abilities and powers. How do I know this? Because, as you can see here in all my writing – this is exactly what happened to me!
The Time Is Now
Start today. Do not wait. Take the leap of faith – literally!! And, when you do, use the contact form here on my website and tell me what happens! Today is the first day of your new life. Today, everything is about to change.
Last thing… I also hope you will take me up on my suggestion to read the book linked above, “Face to Face Appearances by Jesus”. Everyone who reads that book receives a visitation from the real Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, who died on the cross 2,000 years ago and resurrected 3 days later to save us from our sins.
How do I know this is true?? As I’ve been saying… personal experience!!
