I don’t claim to be any more noble than anyone else out there. Most of my life was spent following (mostly) the same principles that the world uses. That is, at least, until around 2009 when something just didn’t make any sense anymore. In today’s episode, I want to give you a very brief historical overview of how I began learning to ask the kind of questions that gets you into the place where God starts to reveal things that have the potential to change your entire life.
Developing An Active Mindset
And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
Luke 16:8 (KJV)
While I was in the Air Force, I remember a time when I kept going back-and-forth about whether or not the war in Iraq was legitimate. I don’t remember the details, but there was a lot of very confusing things going on at the time and some questions were popping up in my head but, I didn’t know how to get to the bottom of it.
A few years later, I was in Air Force intelligence officer training school and I started to realize something was very wrong with the teaching methods. I kept asking the instructors when they were going to teach us how to do proper analysis and use critical thinking. Well, guess what: they never did.
Then we come to 2009 and a certain American president began pushing all sorts of filth and abominations, and threw the country even more rapidly down the path to nuclear judgment seen by many prophets. That was when I began noticing that something was very wrong with the majority of churches in America. The two most prominent churches I had been attending at that time both shared something horrible in common. The pastors of those two mega churches absolutely refused to make any comments about the evil and disgusting things that were being legalized in the country.
As a result of what I was seeing, I started asking a few very simple questions…
- How can there be churches “on every corner“ in the USA yet, the country is getting increasingly more evil at a very rapid pace?
- How is it that none of the pastors I was following would even acknowledge anything that was going on?
- If they, as spiritual leaders, were not going to do anything about the direction of the country, then who was??
Finally, I got to the point where I could no longer stand it anymore and I sent an “atomic bomb email” to one pastor in New York. I blasted him because of what a pathetic and spineless weakling he was for refusing to stand up and rebuke the evil things that were being legalized in New York. He refused to set order and stand on the authority of God’s word.
We could easily continue this part of my personal history at length by adding many other things I began discovering when I adopted the kind of active mindset I’m describing. The mindless programming where we are expected to accept a series of so-called “facts” without ever learning to use the brain God gave us has led to many unbelievable abominations in my country and most likely yours as well.
Thinking Critically (A Very Rare Skill)
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Ephesians 1:18 (KJV)
That very scant coverage of my personal awakening was part of my initiation into learning how to think critically and ask the right questions. Because I had begun questioning things, rather than going with the flow of wickedness and mind control, God set me on a path that would ultimately reveal why the church was completely screwed up, had no results and why He wanted me out of it.
I don’t know if you identify with any of what I’m talking about here. Spiritually, I grew up in churches that did nothing to pass on the idea that we were supposed to be active in any area of our beliefs. Most of what I remember being taught (before my supernatural awakening) was that you should turn off your brain, make entire doctrines on a single verse and concoct some excuse to be as passive and non-confrontational as possible (which is not at all what Jesus did or taught).
Suffice it to say, if you have not yet learned how to ask the same questions I describe above, you are way behind the power curve on the most critical matters both for yourself personally and for the world. Finding and fulfilling your purpose in this life requires that you take an active mindset, think critically and ask the right questions.
I did not find my own true, God-intended purpose by adopting passive approach or by doing only what my friends or family agreed with. If all you do is accept status quo and take the easy path in life, you are never going to find out what God put you here for. Worse than that, you may even end up in hell as a result.
Your Real Purpose Is Valuable
His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
Matthew 25:26-28 (KJV)
The world is full of problems needing to be fixed. What we learn in our schools, churches and mass media is not fixing anything. When the 10-year saga of the invention God gave me finally becomes reality, you will see the proof that the stuff we have been led to believe in school, church and by our government is basically 100% crap.
Not only are there problems in your own life that need to be solved but, when you begin expanding your perspective of the world, you will find out that there are many global problems that someone needs to be correctly solving (for a change). That includes both material and spiritual matters.
How do you know God did not intend for YOU to be one of the world’s problem solvers?! I never knew that I was supposed to be one of those until I went aggressively looking for God’s real plan for my life! Unless you go down a similar path as I describe above, and learn to ask the right questions, you will never accomplish one thing God put you here for. I like to ask people another very rare question:
- If God can’t use you to do the things He put you here on earth for, then what purpose do you serve if He lets you in Heaven??
Our topic today is much more serious than most have considered. This critical thinking mindset is required in every area of your life. If you never learn to ask the right questions, from my experience, there is a very high probability God will never reveal the purpose He had for you. And without that, it is impossible to fulfill it “by accident”.
