The Secret Life Of A Supernatural Entrepreneur: Learning Not To Miss God’s Answers (Episode 11)

Did you know that God is in the business of trying to prosper you and give you the things you need? I never learned that in my earlier years but, it’s true! In this episode, I want to tell you about a very big disappointment I experienced because I missed God’s subtle answer to a very big personal dilemma. It was a case of many dreams that showed a positive outcome but in reality, that is not what happened. Fortunately, since then, I learned what I did wrong and I developed the character trait I lacked that led to my mistake. Here’s what happened…

Learning To Receive (It’s About The Heart)

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

James 1:21 (KJV)

When I first began learning about the supernatural and miracles, I had some really screwed up ideas. For instance, I had the attitude that everything was going to just instantly fall out of the sky in the most unexplainable ways. On the surface, that probably sounds reasonable. But, when you start looking behind the scenes at certain character traits you may have, you begin to realize God may be working things out for a twofold purpose.

Here’s what I mean… About 5 years ago, I had a ton of dreams showing me a vehicle purchase that was supposed to work in my favor. I had every possible detail you could imagine to show that buying that vehicle on faith (without any income) was the right thing to do. I did everything I knew to do in making the purchase, and that part went ok. But, in the months following that, nothing else apparently came through for me. Or so I thought…

I kept paying on the vehicle myself until I used up the last of my money. And that is where the whole situation broke down. Needless to say, my dreams did not show me walking into a disaster. I did not see that the purchase (by faith!!) was supposed to end in losing that vehicle!! But, that is what happened.

It was the most disappointing, confusing and embarrassing experience. I acted in faith and nothing happened. Or at least, that’s what it looked like. Here’s what I found out several years later…

Learning The Hard Way (To Be Humble & Meek)

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Matthew 23:12 (KJV)

Rather than get into all the details, I want to highlight one big thing I missed shortly after that purchase. A family member asked me several times about helping me out with the cost of the car. And, every single time, I refused. Why?? Because of what I wrote at the top here.

I expected a financial miracle to come out of the blue in a most unexplainable manner. Well, my dreams did not show where all the money was coming from. They just showed that the vehicle would be paid for.

Are you starting to see where this is going? God knew I had a character flaw and He was trying to get me to fix that by being very subtle in hinting at me how my car was going to be paid for. My problem was that I lacked meekness and humility.

I was too insecure and prideful to accept my family member’s offer of help. I wanted to remain aloof from my entire family because they mostly did not give me any indication that they believed what I had been saying about my supernatural journey. I could have just accepted their skepticism (temporarily) rather reacting to it.

True, I was right about their rejection of my testimony but, my lack of meekness prevented me from accepting God’s answer to His plan to pay for my car. As the verse above says, you must be meek to receive (accept) material things that you need in this earthly life.

Since I did not have that heart of meekness, I missed God’s answer and my car was taken by the bank. As a result, I looked like a complete idiot in the face of my entire family.

Missing Any Connections In Your Life?

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Matthew 5:5 (KJV)

That is as far as we need to go in my story today. I believe you got the basic idea of how to you must be both humble and meek to recognize God’s answer to the things you need in your life. If you miss it as I did, don’t expect God to come through for you as He did not for me when I refused His perfect answer.

So, how does this apply to YOU in your journey? In your journey to fulfilling ALL that God has planned for you, there are things you must do AND very specific people you MUST connect with. If you refuse those, I can say from experience, you are NOT going to get any other “Plan B”.

Just as God gave us only ONE way to receive salvation from our sins, there are times when He will also give you only ONE solution for the things you need to reach your destiny.

You can either receive with meekness God’s required instructions, or you can be arrogant as I was and refuse God Himself. In the end, if you “miss the train” to your destination, you alone will pay the price, but so will all the others who will never benefit from what God would have done through you.

Think about it. The outcome of you reaching your destiny is much bigger than just what happens (or not) with you.
