In the last several years, there have been some very big shocks when I began understanding what God had called me to. Most of those revelations came in dreams at night and usually, there was a factor of a few weeks before the meaning hit me. What I began learning in the process of progressive revelation was that there is a cycle we go through where our brain has to adjust to the things God reveals about us. Let’s talk a little about that today because you might want to consider how we are supposed to handle these types of discoveries when they hit.

Check Your Ego At The Door

And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

When you ask God for something big, and He responds, the next thing you’re going to find yourself dealing with is a battle with your mind going out of control. It’s something we’ve dealt with a little before but, this time I want to give a little preview of what that has been like for me. Let’s start by a very brief historical overview…

When I began asking God for a way to make more money so I could give more to ministries, I never had any exact ideas about what or how this should happen. All I asked for was to be able to give huge amounts of money to ministries that were really doing God’s work here on earth. I put no other criteria on my request.

I also did not have any personal interest or career experience in the subject matter of the invention God ultimately gave me. Seriously, think about this… God created the idea of me billions of years ago (as He did for YOU as well) and, I had NOT a single clue what that purpose really was. So, when He started to reveal that I was going to have an energy technology invention that looked like something from a Marvel movie, what effect do you think that had on my brain?!

Then, when He showed me that I was the real life version of Tony Stark, what do you think my mind did with that? If you’re fairly intuitive, you already know where this is going. You probably guessed it… it sent my brain into orbit and took several weeks for it to come back down to earth again. In short, these are the kinds of revelations that can give you a major ego problem.

In response to such disclosures, I began to realize I went through a mental and emotional cycle each time. At first, I was shocked by what God told me. That caused me to battle with the tendency for my ego to go out of control. Then, after a long period of time (where nothing unusual happened), my ego would start coming back down to earth and I could then start learning how to develop humility to override the pride in me that would otherwise turn me into a Lucifer.

Hmm, for some reason, this sounds a lot like what we talked about in a recent episode… YES, it is!! But, before we get to God’s remedy for this trap of the fallen human nature, let’s deal with a very poorly taught characteristic of the Kingdom of God…

Status & Exclusivity: A True Kingdom Of God Characteristic

And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

In popular modern day western (white culture) churches, there is a false teaching going around that says something like this… God is going to use a “nameless, faceless generation” to bring the next global revival. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard this on all the popular supernatural TV shows, right?

There’s only one extremely obvious problem with that teaching. It is NOWHERE found in the Bible. So, right now, you’re going into mental short circuits because I just contradicted all those popular preachers who all group think and repeat each other’s wrong unbiblical concoctions. So, let’s look at this…

In the Bible, we read about people who have names and descriptions and it is recorded what they accomplished. We read about David, Ezekiel, Moses, Peter, Paul, Abraham and all the rest. NOWHERE do we read about “some unknown odd mysterious person who strangely has no name”. Then, we read about how it says that God will make your name great. Yet, we still want to listen to all the obviously unbiblical nonsense these immature TV personalities keep mindlessly repeating… oookaaayy.

Scrolling up to the top of this section, we read about Joseph and how God was showing him what status he would receive and we see how his family reacted to that news. We also read about how the prophets were treated by the popular leaders (same goes on today). Then we read about how God gave the Apostle Paul a “remedy” for his potential ego trip due to the very unusual revelations God gave him!

The point being… You can tell in less than two minutes if the people you follow actually know anything about the Kingdom of God or not. In most cases, they do NOT. Unless you want to be relegated to the pile of church people who never fulfill anything God put them here for, STOP listening to them.

God Has Ways Of Fixing The Problem

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

2 Corinthians 12:7 (KJV)

So, as I’ve said in recent episodes, God has a process and methods for helping us remove pride from ourselves. Partly, it’s the wilderness, partly it’s the right teaching against pride, partly it’s His dreams where He rebukes us for the character traits that are out of order with His nature.

In addition to that, we read about what God gave Paul to ensure his revelations did not make him into the next Lucifer. Read Paul’s story in his letters and it becomes clear… the intense and continuous persecution he had to endure became the thing that kept his potential ego in check.

So… there we have it. Yes, God may exalt you to a VERY high position. Yes, that IS a Kingdom of God cultural characteristic. Yes, we see that in the Bible! And, yes, we must process ourselves through all that so we do not become that other Biblical figure I keep bringing up who rebelled against God and taught many billions of people to do the same throughout the history of the world.

That’s what I’ve been learning about the cycle of God’s personal revelations and how we are to properly handle them. Remember Solomon… he fulfilled much of what God put him here for but, in the end, he lost everything, including his eternal destiny. Let’s take heed and not repeat that unfortunate pattern.
