The Secret Life Of A Supernatural Entrepreneur: The Single Key That Unlocks Your Destiny (Episode 18)

In 2015, I was given the answer to my very diligent search for the missing purpose of my life. At the same time I received my answer, I was confronted with the reality that I was horribly ignorant about the one very important key I needed to obtain all that I had been asking God for. The thing I lacked was a concept that I should have already learned, having spent 20 years in the US military. Here is the golden key and how you must learn to apply it in your pursuit of your life’s purpose…

The Door To Destiny

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Exodus 20:12 (KJV)

In my 20 year military career, a concept of respect for authority was strictly taught and enforced. We were instilled with the importance of the “good order and discipline of the armed forces”. What we learned and practiced made much sense because of the roles we all served. Being part of a military force requires the kind of strict training that separates you from all others. If you are the type of person who has problems with authority, then you are not going to last long.

As an officer, I was held to higher standards because, when I was commissioned a second lieutenant, I already outranked 90% of all others who served. That plus, officers were put in charge of operating multi-million dollar weapon systems and leading hundreds and thousands of personnel. In my case, I spent 4 years at a military service academy where we lived in a strict environment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

My point in telling all that is to say that there was a concept I should have already been able to translate into the next phase of my life. Being fair to myself, I did actually learn this golden key (to a degree) but, it was never translated into the things that mattered most: the supernatural transaction system of the Kingdom of God.

The Army Of The Kingdom Of God

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Hebrews 13:17 (KJV)

The same month I retired from the Air Force, I was on the phone with a man I’ve mentioned many times who gave me the personal prophecy I needed for my destiny. On that call, the apostle mentioned something I had never once heard before in 4 decades of church.

He used the word that sounded a lot like the term we were most familiar with in the military, but it was actually on a much higher level. In the military, the word “respect“ was strictly emphasized. But now, on the phone, this apostle used a different word: HONOR.

In the course of the conversation, I mentioned that I believe very strongly in giving financially to ministries. In return, he made a comment that focused the word honor in the context of a prophet who gave me my word from God. This is where my military training should have translated into my past church experience. Right when he said that, I began to realize how little I had learned in my previous 4 decades of church.

Honor: A Mandatory Kingdom Culture

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Proverbs 25:2 (KJV)

Had I actually learned anything in all those years, I would have known that we are supposed to honor those in authority, not merely respect them. One of the first mp3 audio teachings I ever received from the ministry was about honor. As I listened, I was shocked to realize how God makes a big distinction between honor and respect.

Summarizing briefly, respect is actually a very low level term that usually has a selfish motive involved. In contrast, honor is a very high-level term and that is what God requires in the Bible. As an example, nowhere, do you see a verse that says “respect your father and mother…“

On the contrary, it says to HONOR your father and mother so that you live a long life. In fact, honor is such a serious concept that if you fail to do it, almost all the necessary doors in your life will be slammed shut in your face.

Beyond Honor?

If you’d like to really learn, what honor is, I’ll do what I always do: recommend that you go straight to my parent ministry and get those teachings directly yourself. When you do, you will see why the topic in this episode is absolutely critical to you fulfilling the real purpose God put you here for in this life and at this very specific time.

So that concludes our discussion for today but, it is not the end of it for sure. Perhaps in a future episode, I will tell how another word is used at an even higher level than honor, and if you fail to practice that, in certain circumstances, you will definitely be stopped very far short of reaching your destiny. Let’s come back to this one later.
