Have you ever noticed in your life that God puts you in the right place at the right time but, it’s not always in a nice way? This has happened to me so many times that you’d think I would have caught on sooner. Having grown up with an extremely strong willed personality, what I’m going to tell you in this episode took a very long time to learn. The next time you find yourself in the midst of adverse circumstances (or people), see if there might be a divine strategy working in the background for your good.

The God Who Hides

Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

Among many lessons in the last decade, I’ve been learning that God is very subtle in our lives. His character trait of meekness is the reason atheists think they can do whatever they want because He is nowhere to be found. All throughout the Bible, we see directly or indirectly that God hides Himself. Before my supernatural awakening began in 2011, I had virtually no awareness of God in my life. I literally lived every day for 4 decades feeling like like God was billions of miles away and I rarely saw any evidence that He even knew I existed.

It was not until I began to learn about the reality of the supernatural realm that I finally saw the signs that God was very real and that He was very active in my life. As you can see plainly in my website, it was by dreams at night that I saw the direct feedback from God about what was happening in my life on a daily basis. As I learned more about dreams and my experience increased with His nighttime communication in parables, my knowledge of Him began increasing rapidly in many ways. As the number of my dreams increased, I quickly noticed how much God really did know every single detail about my life – past, present and future!

Since we’ve dealt with that vast subject so much already here on my website, we need to shift gears now and go straight to our topic today. It’s time to tell how I’ve learned to recognize God’s working behind the scenes in my life for my own good.

Learning To Recognize God’s Working

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Now let’s talk straightforwardly about how God uses evil circumstances to set you up for success. Before we get into the times this has happened to me, let’s take a brief look in the Bible. Most of us know the story of Joseph starting in Genesis 37+. Joseph was treated horribly by his own family members because of the favoritism given him by his father, his reporting the evil behaviors of his brothers to his father and the dreams God gave him of his future.

Joseph was hated by his brothers and they plotted to kill him. In the midst of their evil and murderous plan, his brothers decided instead to sell him into slavery to foreigners. While a slave in Egypt, Joseph was falsely accused and put in prison. Then, years later, he was promoted to the second highest position in Egypt. The point here is that yes, evil people tried to destroy Joseph but, God used what they did to put Joseph through a character development program and ultimately to place him in a very high level position where he was used to save an entire nation.

So, in my life, I’ve most definitely had to deal with the same combination of factors that Joseph did. Just like the rest of us, God had to take the pluses and minuses from my childhood upbringing and transform them into something He could use for a very high level position globally. Here’s a short summary of some horrible situations I’ve been through, without going into too many details…

• I’ve had horrible jobs where I finally left, only to end up in the most perfect situation that set me up for promotions.
• I’ve been mistreated, attacked and dishonored by people who were either completely wicked or were judgmental self righteous religious Pharisees who harassed me because they thought they knew better what God’s plan was for my life.
• I’ve been forced to move geographically because of the evil behaviors and attitudes of the above mentioned people but, when I arrived at the next destination, I received things I wanted and needed for my future calling and purpose.
• I’ve been in wilderness situations where God would not allow me to have a job so that I could focus exclusively on learning everything you read about in this series and in my website as a whole.
• Along with all that, I’ve had vehicles taken from me or rendered unable to drive by evil circumstances so that I could fully concentrate on God’s personal assignments rather than be distracted by worldly affairs.

All Things Work Out But, Only If…

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

I think you can see the pattern here without my going into too many extraneous details (for now). So let’s ask a couple simple questions… Where there reasons why God allowed evil people to mistreat me as they did Joseph? Yes, God has used those people to develop character traits I did not previously have that I needed for my destiny. Did that justify the evil actions and attitudes of those people? No, they were still completely responsible for their evil and, in several instances, God showed me what He was going to do to them as a result of what they did to me (including ending their life).

In light of all this, the most important thing to remember is that, when you are diligently seeking God’s purpose for your life, God will use everything that happens to you for your good. God is so infinite in every way that there is nothing anyone can do to stop you from reaching your true destiny. But, that is only if you are actively working towards His plan, not yours.

This is the simple Biblical truth that took me a rather long time to fully recognize. When I finally did, I didn’t mind (as much) the evil circumstances and people who God used to position me exactly where I needed to be for my advantage.

God is the ultimate strategist. He knows everything, even the most private details of the thoughts of evil people who plan against you. God is never surprised and He never loses. So long as you are connected to, and chosen by, Him to fulfill your calling and purpose, you have the ultimate confidence that nothing anyone does to you will ever prosper.

Therefore, next time you are mistreated, dishonored, attacked verbally or physically, forced to move to a new location, or to get a new job, be very excited because God is about to do things for you that are all part of His plan to put you in the exact right place at the right time according to the destiny He planned for you from the beginning of time.
