More About Prophecy Timelines: Be Prepared But, Expect The Unexpected

In the last few weeks, I have posted blogs on a topic I rarely deal with: prophecy. With events going on in the world, and a number of significant prophecies that have been fulfilled in the last few months, I thought this would be a great time to explain something about myself and my experience. What I will say applies to personal and national prophecies, although mostly for the latter. Overall, I want to convey what I have learned regarding a balance and proper order for all prophecies especially when they do not happen in the way or at the time you expected them to.

“We Prophesy In Part”

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

1 Corinthians 13:9 (KJV)

A few years ago, I heard someone say that every single day they woke up and “caught up” on all the latest prophecies for things going on in the world. At that time, I was still new to learning about all things prophetic but, something about what they said just did not sit right with me. As the years passed since then, I have seen prophecies come and go with many of them not going quite the way it looked like they would. There have been plenty of times when it looked like certain prophecies would be fulfilled in the next few days or weeks yet, years went by and… nope!

If you saw my recent blog on global timelines, then you saw a great example of a prophecy I received in a dream for a major winter storm. You also saw how that dream came true exactly as I saw it but, there was a huge problem with it: the storm I saw happened one full year after I expected it to. Probably worse than that, when it did happen, I had totally forgotten about it and began to wonder if maybe somehow it just vanished into the quirky realm of the supernatural.

The one thing we must remember with prophecies is that they are partial. They are in the realm of the imperfect gifts of the Holy Spirit. They are not a gift of God the Father, nor of Jesus. Only God gives perfect gifts and they are not in the realm of gifts of the Spirit. God’s perfect gifts are much higher, in the realm of full sonship, where you can operate in marvelic abilities that include dominion over the elements of creation. Contrarily, prophetic gifts are in the realm of immaturity and you can operate in them as a spiritual baby.

Politics, Prophecy & The Kingdom Of God: Setting Proper Order (Part 1)

Getting Out Of Order

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

1 Corinthians 12:28 (KJV)

Beyond that, as I pointed out in a previous blog linked below, prophets are NOT the highest position in the church. They are the SECOND position, beneath that of an apostle. Prophetic words are never to be taken out of that order and raised to a level God did not give them. If you are not familiar with the order God set for all things in the Kingdom of God, then you have most likely already gotten “out of order” and committed a very serious error in this matter. Prophecy is NEVER to be taken beyond the place God put it.

Let’s back up to the timeline element because, this is really one of the primary issues I’m trying to deal with here. From my experience, prophecy (including Bible prophecy) can have a shifting timeline. What was spoken may be perfectly accurate and valid but, the timing for that thing to happen is where the trickiness comes in. God is the one who controls timelines for events, especially national or global events.

Prophecies are rarely ever spoken on an exact timeline when you can count the number of weeks on a calendar and see them happen down to the minute. Instead, prophecies sometimes have signs that accompany them where you have to connect dots in order to figure out when an event will take place.

In the case of my snow storm dream a few years ago, I do not remember any such timing sign that showed when it would happen. But, in my dream of the wealth transfer, I did see what appeared to be a sign that connects with a northwest US disaster. Will it be exactly like that? I have no idea because there are other factors that could make that dream totally unrelated to the prophecy by Brandon Biggs about that tsunami on the west coast. Time will tell and we will not know which way this was supposed to go until it happens. Or, maybe God will give another dream or sign to validate one possibility above all others.

Situational Awareness – Better Early Than Late!

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Mark 13:33 (KJV)

So let’s talk about a very relevant new prophecy that I wrote briefly about last week: national economic collapse. Are the signs confirming this event as I said? Yes, I believe they are. BUT… what is the timeline? Is it going to happen soon after the January 20, 2025 presidential inauguration? NO IDEA. From experience however, there is a very high probability that it will NOT. At this point, it looks as if it could easily happen 1-2 years from now. Remember my snow storm dream? One full year later…

In my opinion, and based on God’s kingdom order, I believe we need to keep a loose leash on prophecies. On the one hand, we should be aware of what’s going on in the world but on the other hand, don’t “marry yourself” to a timeline prediction that is possibly not going to be fulfilled. Keep an open mind and be watchful. Be prepared for the worst (if it is a negative prophecy) but don’t dismiss it when it does not happen quite as soon as you expected. It could be that the signs “appeared to” say one thing but, you still had to wait another year or three.

Prophecy absolutely has a right place and a value. If it did not, then God would not have given it to us. Therefore, ignoring them altogether is very foolish if you ask me. Speaking as a former military officer, we need to have both a long term (strategic) and short term (tactical) view of what’s going on around us. If you dismiss prophecy altogether, then you are like I was for 40 years of my life, not knowing there was such a thing as modern day prophets or prophecies.

The Bible is full of prophecies that have been fulfilled and those that have not been yet. When I was a child, I read about end times prophecy and it seemed as if it was all going to be fulfilled by the time I was 25 years old (that was almost 30 years ago). Ezekiel 38/39 has not happened yet but, looking at the events in the world, it’s obvious that everything is pointing that way in the near future. Could it happen in the next 2 weeks? Very possibly. But, might it take another few years? Of course.

A Few Primary Action Points

Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment.

Ecclesiastes 8:5 (KJV)

In summary, there are many more things I could say about this very vast realm of the supernatural. To keep this short and hopefully useful, here are my own personal main points that I have learned over the last decade or more…

  • Prophecy is important but, it must be kept in its proper order in God’s Kingdom.
  • Prophecy is an imperfect and partial gift of the Holy Spirit, not a perfect and mature gift of God the Father.
  • Prophecy fulfillment is subject to many variables that can be shifting all the time.
  • Only God knows the real timelines for future events.
  • Prophetic signs are very valid but, they can be highly subject to impulsivity and personal attachment when attempting to predict when a prophecy may be fulfilled.
  • Prophecy exists for our benefit, so we do not get caught off guard and unprepared for national and global events, especially when they speak of disasters; therefore, they must be honored.
  • As always, go to God yourself and ask Him whether or not you need to listen to certain prophecies or certain prophets and whether you should take action on anything they say.

That’s a pretty short list and it could be twice as long but, you can’t go too wrong if you do what I’ve learned. If any of the things I’ve been waiting on myself (for 10 years) does (or does not) happen when I think it will… oh well, that’s how it goes. At the very least, I am being watchful and prepared, even if I am a bit early. When it comes to prophetic matters, it’s better to be early than late!!

As always, thank you for reading and supporting my work!
