The Secret Life Of A Supernatural Entrepreneur: Remember The Origin! (Episode 33)

In the last 10+ years, many unexpected and challenging things have happened to me, including very recently. In the process of going through some very bizarre contradictions and extreme faith-challenging situations, I got a revelation about how to stay on track in your personal journey. Yes, the title of this episode gives a hint but, there’s a lot of substance to the idea that having the right origin to your life purpose must be the anchor you hold onto when things go completely against you. That is, IF you have the right anchor to begin with. Let’s talk about how my “origin story” has kept me on track when blindsiding circumstances tried to make me think everything I believed in was a total lie.

My Origin Story

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

If you’ve been reading all the episodes of this series, then you know what changed with me over a decade ago. I’ve previously discussed how the story of a real man hundreds of years ago overwhelmingly caused the motivation of my life to switch from my own personal goals to millions of others worldwide who lived a life in poverty. I told of how I asked God repeatedly for a way to make much more money so that I could give more, especially to those who had almost nothing. My prayer was completely about doing more for others and it had nothing to do with myself.

You probably remember how God answered me in a way that caught me completely by surprise, giving me something far beyond my wildest imagination. The answer I received was an invention that would produce huge amounts of money and would change the entire world. As you might guess, there were a few things that came along with that answer which I did NOT ask for and did NOT expect. I’ll skip the recap of the last 10 years because you can find all the main highlights of it in the many previous episodes.

Let’s just say for now that there were a few times I reminded God that I came into this journey because I asked Him for something good, and that it was not about myself. I told Him many times that I didn’t see how putting up with so many demonic attitudes from so many people was part of my goal to do much more for many others. I reminded Him that I came here because I did NOT ask for anything of myself. If I had, then it would make sense why I had to put up with so many horrible situations.

Rather than get into all the details (which would make matters worse), let’s skip past that to the point where I received the revelation of how to stay on my course despite what was happening to me. It’s really a very short answer but, many times, the process of getting to those simple answers can be a very convoluted, twisting path. Here’s why…

Whose Life Is It Really??

Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

Job 8:7 (KJV)

When we finally come to the realization that our life is not our own, and that we will answer to God about what we did with our time here on earth, our perspective starts to change. When I asked God for something big, for the benefit of many others, I effectively used the key that opens the door to our real destiny as God planned it. When that happened, I entered on a journey that God had planned for me. Not only did He plan the purpose for which He made me but, He also planned the process I would need to go through to reach that “expected end” as Jeremiah wrote.

And that is where things definitely do not go as we thought they should. This is where we should realize that our version of “right and wrong” is not always God’s idea. We humans have a tendency to “create our own righteousness” (aka “self righteousness”). We have a tendency to decide for God what we should have to go through and what is unacceptable according to our own very small mind. We read verses that say God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9) but still, we decide our way is better and much more intelligent.

Believe me, I do this myself. More than you might realize, actually. Despite all that I’ve learned in this process, I still regularly find myself forgetting those basic facts above and I have the tendency to get offended at God and people who do things far beyond the limits of what I believe is reasonable. But, think about it. Isn’t that what happened to Joseph in the Bible? We don’t see anywhere where he asked God for something big but, still the point is that God used him to save the lives of millions of people and look what he had to go through just to get there. He was unjustly treated by his own family and then by total strangers.

However, during that time, we see some evidence that there were a few character flaws popping up that God did not turn a blind eye to. We have the benefit of looking back on his story but, he did not! He did not know how things were going to end, just as Abraham did not necessarily have proof of how God’s promise to him would work out either. Both were challenged in their faith. Joseph had his dreams (as do I) and Abraham had the direct audible word of God about his future offspring. Regardless of how they received their personal prophecies, they each had something to hang onto.

God, The Omega

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Isaiah 46:10 (KJV)

In my case, I knew that I had asked God for the right thing for the right reasons. I knew that I asked Him for something according to His character and nature. I knew my prayer was pure (lacking selfish motives). As a result, I had confidence that God had to do whatever it took to keep me on track. Yes, I had my own work to do but, as long as I did that, it was really up to Him to make everything happen. Regardless of what people did to me, my true confidence was in Him, not in any man (or woman).

Had I asked God for something big for my own selfish reasons, none of the above would be true. I would have no confidence that He would come through for me because I would NOT have been living my life to fulfill HIS plan. It’s really very simple in that regard. As long as you are seeking His plan for your life, and doing what He leads you to do to make it happen, the results are really not completely your responsibility.

Let me say it again for emphasis – you can have 100% confidence in the outcome of your life when you are fully going after God’s plan rather than your own. This even means that you cannot die prematurely as long as you are doing what He put you here for. Don’t be stupid about this and put yourself in a situation where you tempt God as the devil did when he told Jesus to jump off the top of the temple! There are reasonable limits!

So this was my revelation about surviving all the evil things that tried to stop me from fulfilling God’s plan for my life. Make sure your original motivation is based on His plan, not yours. Make sure you do all that He guides you to do. Ask Him to help you overcome all personal character flaws so you don’t end up wandering in the wilderness for 40 years due to a bad attitude. Do your part and expect that God will do His. That is what He tells us in the Bible. Here are a few other things we can stand on:

  • God tells us that our end is better than our beginning.
  • God makes no promises about our beginning, only our ending.
  • God is the Omega, the One who has dominion over the end of time, including our own.
  • God plans the end from the beginning, no matter what happens in the middle of our journey, He alone can continuously strategize our path to make sure we still arrive at His intended destination.

When you get all this settled, it no longer matters who does what to your or who says what about you. Keep your confidence in God who is the Emperor over all creation. There is no devil or lie or any person who can stop His plan for your life (just make sure you do your part).
