The Secret Life Of A Supernatural Entrepreneur: Developing Boldness & Confidence In Your Identity (Episode 35)

Here is one of those double sided subjects that has been very misunderstood and mixed up by church people and leaders. It’s also one that often causes a certain degree of disbelief in a person whom God has called to something very big. Those of us who grew up in churches of various types (as I did) have been programmed into thinking that false humility is Biblical and boldness is arrogance. In this episode, I’m going to briefly explain what I’ve learned about correctly identifying the distinctions between boldness, humility and the opposite counterfeit. The point of this episode is that, if you do not have the correct understanding of how and why boldness is Biblical, you are going to cut off and limit the power of God in your life and thereby hold back the Kingdom of God here on earth.

Your True Identity Is From God

The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Proverbs 28:1 (KJV)

When God began showing me in my dreams at night what He created me to be, I have to say, I was quite shocked. True, I had asked God for something big but, it was nowhere near the size of what He started showing me. What God gave me was both far bigger than what I asked Him for and it was on a subject I had never given a thought to at any time in my life. Most definitely, there are people far better qualified for some aspects of my calling than I was.

Just speaking of the technology element, there are many people worldwide who already have experience creating devices that do things our modern “science” says can’t be done. But, God did not pick me just because of an invention I never knew I was supposed to have. I’ve learned in the past few decades that God often uses a person to accomplish many things all at once. If He only wanted me to bring some new technology to earth, He could have done that by now using any number of very smart people.

As I’ve noted previously, there’s only one problem with that: none of those highly qualified science and technology people seem to want anything to do with the God who gave them their ideas (ouch). And of those that do, most of them have NOT demonstrated any willingness to connect with the only global ministry that has the power to bring people like myself into their promised land (another ouch).

So that brings us back around to the title if this episode… boldness. I think you’re already getting the sense that what we are dealing with is far more complex than a simple matter of how to define the term. Judging by the comments I’ve seen from various random social media posts, boldness is Biblical in ways most people have never thought about. Partly, it deals with standing up for yourself when it comes to who and what God made you to be. But, it also extends to the way you carry out the assignment He gave you.

Making Excuses & Blaming Others

Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

Jeremiah 1:17 (KJV)

Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?

1 Samuel 15:19 (KJV)

Can you imagine if Joseph (Genesis 41+) stood in front of the pharaoh of Egypt with what modern day church people call “Christian humility”? You know what I’m talking about… that weak, insecure, pretending not to be anything, denier of the real identity God gave them kind of thing. The sort of character trait that ensures no one will ever pay attention to you. I’m talking about the kind of false humility that makes friends with everyone (at all costs) and allows them to easily control you, thereby disobeying God and voiding the purpose God sent you to accomplish.

Demons laugh at people who do that because they know you will back down at the first sign of confrontation. Those are people pleasers that fear man rather than God. Jeremiah was told to be bold, and if he didn’t, God was going to confront him (Jeremiah 1:17). Saul was in disobedience to God when he pointed a finger at the people as an excuse for not obeying the command from the prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 15:19-24).

False humility is making up excuses for cowardice and lack of boldness. It is nothing but an excuse that points the finger at your friends who will never agree with you when you step out according to what God called you to!

Let me repeat this: your identity came from God, NOT from you. Just as with me, I did not call myself to anything God revealed to me about my purpose. I did not create that in my mind nor give myself all the dreams about a thing I never once considered in my entire life. Just like me, your true purpose was “invented” by God.

Therefore, when you carry out your assignments in that capacity, you CANNOT under any conditions, dumb down to the level of what everyone wants you to be. That includes your church friends and all the popular church leaders who are too afraid to be bold themselves because their friends would disapprove. Sorry but this weakness (cowardice) is the reality that I have seen especially among my white culture in the last decade.

So that now brings us to the other side of the coin here… How do you carry out your assignment in a bold manner but by also remaining humble?

Boldness: A Kingdom of God Mandate

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

Acts 4:29 (KJV)

That’s a question few people ever ask. Stop and think about it… in order for you to be bold, you must be humble. Why? The reason is simple. If you are really humble, then you do NOT care what people think of you. Jesus did not care about his popularity poll numbers and that is our pattern to follow (Philippians 2:7). If you care too much about what people think of you, it is because you are focused on yourself and preserving your reputation. That is a manifestation of PRIDE (the root of all sin).

Yes, there is a balance of being bold and not going over the line in being arrogant. Ok, that may take some time to sort out. But the point is that boldness is very easily seen in both the Old and New Testaments and it is a mandatory Kingdom of God character trait. Are we going to make mistakes being balanced in this one? Yes, of course! That’s part of the process. So what?! Learn the lesson and move on. If you are too afraid to make a mistake, that also is a manifestation of pride.

Look, it’s very simple and, at the same time, hard to sort out at first. Rather than go on writing all this in fully elaborated terms, let me just say it all in the simplest way (some of this I have already explained thoroughly in my past blogs on the Kingdom of God)…

  • Your calling and purpose was designed by God.
  • When you are bold about your true identity, you are merely doing what God called you to be.
  • It was His idea to make you what you are, it was not your idea.
  • When you cower and dumb down what God called you to be, you are in disobedience by rejecting what He said about you (that is false humility).
  • Kings are required to be bold; you will never confront and defeat demonic rulers in the spiritual realm if you are a coward in the face of humans.
  • Demons and demonic people are very aggressive; unless your boldness exceeds theirs, you will never win any divine wars.
  • The realm of “peace at all costs” is the realm of immaturity (the level of a spiritual child).
  • The level of fully mature sonship is where you fight divine wars and take down high level demonic rulers (with measurable results seen in the natural realm).
  • Jesus was very bold; that’s why they constantly attacked Him and ultimately killed Him; the same was true for most of the early apostles.
  • Until you learn how to be bold in your assignment, you will see NO results in the spiritual realm or in the natural realm.

Follow up… go to my past blogs and episodes and see how all that I wrote here fits into a much larger context. It is a very large subject that cannot be handled in a single post.
