When I was a kid, I grew up in a church that had a demonic stronghold of poverty. I won’t say which church at this time because, later in life as I went looking to see what other mainstream churches taught, I discovered their teaching was no different. This topic is one I have dealt with more than once since I started writing my blogs in 2015 but today I thought I’d give a more recent illustration of how this mentality has produced missed opportunities for certain people I know who have these beliefs. My aim in this episode is not to beat on the negatives I’ve observed but rather to point to how what some people have missed can be corrected by going through the same process I did a decade ago.

A Sad Dream Illustration

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

At some point within the last couple years, I had a dream that I thought was going to be a good sign of things to come except that there was a contradiction of symbols in it.

In the dream, I saw myself sitting on the front porch of an unnamed (very close and deceased) relative’s house. As I looked up at the sky, I saw that it was full of thick purple clouds as if it was about to rain. When I woke up from the dream, I wanted to make sure I understood the true meaning so I looked up the color purple and the meaning of clouds.

As I considered the dream, I began to understand why the message was not as positive as I had hoped. Here’s what was wrong with the dream… The clouds should have been rain clouds, which would have indicated that God was going to “pour out a blessing”. The dream clearly showed an abundance was possible so there should have been no reason for lack. I’ve seen what rain can mean from past dreams and this should have been a good sign due to the sky being covered with these thick clouds.

The color purple can represent royalty and riches in a positive sense (or corruption of the same in a negative). The front porch of this relative’s house was the main symbol that told who it was really about and the unfortunate reality of what was really going on.

Sadly, one of the most prominent associations with this particular relative (as symbolized by their house) was a mindset of overwhelming fear and a stronghold of a poverty mentality. The reason for that was because of the false beliefs they had accepted based on an unbliblical doctrine of poverty and powerlessness taught by their church.

The Unfortunate Message in the Dream

So the dream unfortunately showed a contrast of two opposites all at once. What it meant in real life was that a person who God wanted to use to provide certain material things I needed was likened to a cloud without rain (Proverbs 25:14). In the dream, there was no rain, only the presence of thick dark clouds.

In real life, I can be thankful that the person who the dream represented did actually provide some things. Unfortunately, they did so by constantly complaining about giving and they gave far short of what they were actually able to. Ultimately, I lacked some of the things I needed at the time and was delayed in long awaited tasks I needed to accomplish. Beyond that, the person frequently displayed a very ugly self-righteous nasty religious and evil attitude towards myself and my wife regarding God’s strict requirement that we were NOT allowed to have a normal job.

NOTE: I’m not saying this to attack anyone but to show a real life example of how we are NOT supposed to live our life. If I didn’t have a dream about this, and the real life situation with that person wasn’t so unpleasant to deal with, I may not have said anything about it.

You Must Change Your Mind

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

When God initially used circumstances to push me out of my Air Force career in 2015, I had a major war in my mind due to the same (above) false beliefs I was raised with. Unknown to me at the time, I had just spent 4+ decades in churches of various kinds that all taught me basically nothing of any usefulness. I’ve previously explained all this so I will omit repeating the details. Suffice it to say that many of my episodes in this series have been devoted to telling the extreme effort I had to put in so that I could correct what was very wrong with my lack of faith and false beliefs.

In case I did not state it clearly in the past, that horrible situation was God’s plan to use circumstances to reveal what was lacking in my beliefs. Thankfully, I responded properly and I dove in to my Bible and looked up every single verse about prosperity and how God provides for us. I made note cards of them all and I read them repeatedly every single day until they slowly began to transform my mind into what God originally created us all to be.

I look back on that horrible situation where I woke up in a panic every day for more than a year as God’s gift to me. Yes, it was unbelievably horrible but it led to my getting up to speed with the kind of faith I should have learned decades earlier. At the time of this writing, I have overcome most of my fear of lack of money and I stopped panicking a few years ago. It was not easy and it was often like two steps forward, one step back. It was a very long struggle but I have experienced many victories in this area and God has come through for me every time I and my wife needed things.

Poverty Is A Satanic False Doctrine

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

I’d rather not go into detail again about all that I’ve learned about God’s supernatural system of provision and prosperity. I’d rather not retell how God has given me things in the spiritual realm that will produce massive amounts of wealth in this physical world because I obeyed His financial requirements and principles. I’d love to tell how God requires you to give very significant amounts of money at the level of a (scary) personal SACRIFICE before He will give back to you in the same manner. I already have blogs that deal with this so we will stop at this point.

Poverty means you live in lack. It means you have to scrape by barely surviving. Poverty in the Bible is a CURSE, not a blessing. Living with a poverty mentality means there is something very wrong with your belief in God and His words. YES, God will require you to go through a wilderness experience (as He has with me for 10 years) where you will live in that state of lack. But, there is a DISTINCTION between being in a wilderness training program versus living with false and unbiblical beliefs that result in you missing the entire purpose God created you for.

If you do not REPENT of false satanic poverty beliefs (that means to change your mind), you will NEVER accomplish anything in this lifetime and you will never do anything to bring the true Kingdom of God on earth.

This world is screwed up beyond belief and it’s on the rapid path to Hell. For anyone to think it is “God’s will” to live in a state where you cannot (or should not) do anything to change what is going on is completely wicked. The God of the Bible is a God of POWER. If you really claim to be a Christian and you are powerless and have a pathetic weak mindset, you are spreading a false religion and doing immense damage to the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. You are in that case, part of the problem, NOT the solution.

Unless you do the same thing I did and “be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2), you will eventually be shown the proof that what I’m saying and what I had to learn was correct. You will find out that you missed the entire reason God gave you the gift of life, especially in these times we live in right now. It will be too late! You will suffer for that but, so will the rest of the world.

STOP thinking you are insignificant and that God will not use you to do great and unimaginable things in your lifetime now. Stop believing in anything that is negative and above all, do NOT spread a false demonic doctrine to a world that is severely out of order with God’s Truth. Be the solution, not the problem.

The God of the Bible is POSITIVE and so should ALL of your beliefs. Anything to the contrary is NOT of God. Learn what the Kingdom of God is and make it manifest in your life and in the lives of all those around you. Do it NOW. It is NOT someone else’s job, it is YOURS.

When you become transformed as I describe, you will see MANY victories in your life and in the lives of others around you. The entire world will benefit from you – exactly as God created us to be – made in His image and likeness – a POSITIVE force that overcomes all forms of evil – including poverty!!
