A Swiss Mountaintop Dream With A Profound Personal Message

Just the other day, I had a dream that sort of hit me out of the blue. I had been getting fewer dreams than normal in the last several days and things in. my life began to feel very much like the sailboat with no wind. I had been expecting very long awaited, big things to begin showing up but my circumstances were starting to make me doubt all that. Then came this dream and it was extremely positive in many ways. In this post, I’m going to tell you the dream and the real life circumstances that ties it all together. Each of the primary symbols will be interpreted and relevant Bible passages will be included as I often do. I will discuss the meaning of many elements including: mountain scenes, money, numbers, currency exchange, an unknown man, military aircraft, drinking water, crying, backpacks and more.

Dream Of A Swiss Mountaintop Trip

August 27, 2025 – I’m with a group on a trip to someplace like Switzerland. We are in several locations, up high in the mountains and then down at lower areas looking up at the higher elevations. At one point, I’m watching a grey military transport jet landing on a runway in this mountainous area and I’m trying to see the name, it’s Samedan (highest airport in Europe). Then we are at the highest point and we are getting ready to leave at the end of the trip and we are changing our money back to our own currency. I had both a 20 (or 30) and a 33 Euro paper bills. Then I noticed a thick stack of white cloths in my wallet and I wanted to take them out and put them in my backpack. An unknown man is carrying my backpack.
Then I’m looking down at a beautiful mountain town scene with winding roads and beautiful houses with a river built on the contours of the mountains. I’m wanting to take a photo with my phone and thinking I’d rather have one with a much better camera, like from an upgraded phone. There’s a German / Swiss looking guy who never says anything but I start to realize he’s from this area and he knows a lot about everything. We walk a dark stairway to go back down and he gives me a bottle of water from a local water source and I start drinking it and I tell him it’s the best because it’s from a mountain water source. For some reason, while at the bottom of the mountain, something made me very emotional as I was looking up at the mountain scene. I was remembering the whole experience on the trip and I’m crying suddenly and wiping away a lot of tears. The whole time it was a dusk sky with high grey clouds.

Below are the primary symbols interpreted. In my dream journal, I have been using emoji characters like the following as simple pictorial illustrations of the primary elements in my dream. It helps me more quickly get an idea at a glance of what I saw when looking back at the many pages in my journal: ⛰️ ✈️ 🎒 💶 😢 🇨🇭

  • Switzerland / mountains = a personal favorite country and setting of mine, Biblically it refers to how Moses went up a high mountain to meet with God; this is especially meaningful to me in many ways including that it represents the last 10 years of my wilderness training experience, far from the normal life routines, in a spiritual journey where I experienced amazing new things that most people in this life never discover (see more about mountains).
  • Vacation trip = we live our lives on earth in a typical daily routine absent from the knowledge of what goes on in Heaven and with God; in context of this dream, the vacation trip represented my last 10 years in the wilderness training time when I was not involved in any kind of normal life activities just as the Israelites were in the wilderness for 40 years so that they could spend all their time focusing on what God wanted them to learn as His chosen people (Exodus 19:17 and Exodus 29:43).
  • Samedan = (Engadin airport) this is known to be Europe’s highest elevation airport and symbolically represents a heavenly high place where God’s provision arrives in our lives according to the “mission” He has assigned us to (Philippians 4:19 and 2 Timothy 1:9).
  • Military jet = most of the time, in my dreams, the military represents the Kingdom of God; as such, this represents the regular arrival of supplies needed according to our personal life “mission” within the Kingdom of God; in real life, I remember seeing many cargo jets flying into and out of Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where I had been assigned multiple times during my Air Force career (Matthew 6:33).
  • Swiss guy = someone who is a “native” to this local region and knows very well the place where we visited, symbolically he represents the Holy Spirit who seems silent but acts as the all knowing guide in our life; frequently in dreams, an unknown man usually represents God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:31-33).
  • Tears = a strong emotion due to a very profound personal experience from this “trip”; in real life, this refers to my own looking back on how hard life has been these past 10 years and what it did for me in a very personal way which will never be forgotten; emotions in dreams must be paid attention to because they give an added dimension to the meaning (see more here and Psalm 56:8).
  • Currency exchange = exchanging the currency of faith / the heart to using it for obtaining all things needed in normal life (see blog: Trading High Value Currency In The System Of Heaven: Qualifying To Receive Great Wealth (Part 1)).
  • €33 = represents a promise (based on the age of Jesus when he fulfilled His long awaited purpose in earth), the currency of Heaven (“foreign” to my “country” of earthly life), this refers to matters of the heart and faith which are used to obtain all the things we need here on earth (see more about #33 here); this can also refer to Matthew 6:33 where we are told to “seek first the Kingdom of God…” and all things we need will be added to us.
  • €20 / 30 = the exact number was not clearly seen but I knew it to be one of these; since it was partially unknown, we must consider both… as such, it is interesting that both of these refer to the beginning of true ministry since Jesus begun His ministry at age 30 and there is a well documented 20 year process of reaching full sonship maturity in God’s ancient training program (see resource: God’s Divine Timing vs Premature Exposure, by David E. Taylor).
  • Mountain water = drinking from the source of life (as Jesus said about Himself) and also represents being filled with the Holy Spirit, especially when carrying out normal daily life back down “on earth” as I will experience soon (John 4:14 and Exodus 31:3).
  • White cloths = these looked exactly like the many prayer cloths I have seen and received at my parent ministry (JMMI), the many cloths refer to my many prayers for miracles of provision in these last 10 years while living on almost nothing (Acts 19:11).
  • Wallet = where valuable personal things are kept, especially relevant to my prayers for provision which was severely lacking during these last 10 years in God’s ancient wilderness training ground (as is shown in context with the prayer cloths) (Matthew 6:21 and Luke 12:34).
  • Backpack = represents God’s provision in the form of the many kinds of resources needed to fulfill the assignment He gives each of us; in the last 10 years, I have seen this backpack many times in my dreams and in real life, I always carry one with me (see more).
  • Carried by = an unknown man (who seemed to be the same unknown Swiss guy) was carrying my backpack; this refers to how we are to “cast our cares on God who cares for us” (1 Peter 5:7).
  • Grey sky = this often represents a time of uncertainty where things in our life are not clear; this is exactly how the last 10 years has been for me (see more).
  • Dusk = represents the end of one day and the beginning of the next; in context of this dream, it adds to the theme that the time of my “trip” experience is coming to an end regarding my last 10 years in the wilderness (Genesis 1:5).
  • Mountain town scene = this was a little harder to sort out but after some consideration, it seems most likely to be
about seeing all of life from a high level perspective of how everything works out in perfect order by God’s plan and strategies that cause everything to work out (Romans 12:2).
  • Photo = represents recording something personally significant to show others and as a personal memory; for me, this also points to my blogs where I record significant things I have learned and experienced from God (Exodus 17:14).
  • Old Phone = in real life, I have been wanting to upgrade my 6 year old iPhone XR especially for the purpose of taking photos and videos; this can also represent transforming my old view of life by increasingly learning God’s higher ways in these last 10 years (Romans 12:2).
  • End of trip = the literal end of my wilderness time in the remote high place with God; the return flight will represent my going back “down” to a normal life just as Moses went back down to the Israelites after the 40 days and nights with God on top of the mountain (Exodus 32:15).

What I have written above is not necessarily the full 100% interpretation of each of the symbols but it is a fairly good 90% answer. Often, with very profound dreams like this, additional layers of meaning are revealed in due time, sometimes over months and years. Either way, the most important elements that relate to my life at the moment are sufficiently known as I have written them above. In your own dreams, you may see symbols similar to what I have written – the interpretations I have given will be relevant to you as well.

Real Life Connection

If you have followed my blogs for the last couple years, I don’t need to explain my real life circumstances and how it fits the dream perfectly. If you are a newcomer to my blogs, I have a long series that I’ve been writing that tells many details about my experiences in the last 10 years of my wilderness training time. That series can be found in several places including my blogs and a new book which is now available in e-book, paperback and audio book formats.

Needless to say, this was a very positive dream that signaled the soon coming end to my wilderness time and a great depth of personal meaning about the long awaited, soon coming change of season for the next chapter of my life.

See this promo image for how you can get that series…

Scenic Videos

If you’ve never been to Switzerland or heard of Samedan airport (near St Moritz), here are a couple videos that show the area. I’ve been to Switzerland many times while in the Air Force but never yet to Samedan.
