When you are actively working towards fulfilling God’s plan for your life, God will give you dreams to show whether you are on the right path or not. Some of those dreams will show you driving on a road in a certain type of vehicle. The details in those dreams will tell you much about how your journey is going and if things are going well or if you need to make corrections. I have had many dreams of this kind and today I want to tell you about one that gave a very accurate description of my recent past, leading up to where I am at today (December 2025). If you’ve ever had dreams of driving on various types of roads but didn’t know what they meant, this episode will be very helpful, especially as it relates to God’s calling for your life.

Dream: Driving On A European Highway

The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Isaiah 40:3 (KJV)

December 13, 2025 – I’m driving a sports car on European highways in a mountainous region. Twice, I’m changing directions and by slowing down to a near stop and then accelerating to merge onto the new stretch of highway. Each time, there are many curves in the road and I accelerate very fast in an effort to get up to full highway speed. The first time I did that, there was a sharp bend to the right where the view was restricted by mountainous terrain. Oncoming traffic from the opposite direction and very narrow lanes with only one lane for each direction prevented me from getting up to full speed.

The second time, I accelerate very fast again but, before I get up to full speed, I have to take my foot off the gas to let the car coast and slow down because there’s someone ahead of me. This time, the scene has changed and it looks like I’m now on a highway in a very different location. I see what looks like American scenery and something like a black on white American speed limit sign. The highway is a typical wider American road and I’m still in a mountainous region. The whole dream took place in a daytime setting with a very positive appearance and feeling. 

Before we get into a discussion of the symbols and interpretation, let me say that as I considered the meaning of this dream, it became obvious to me that it was a parable of my recent past, present and future all in one. Keep that big picture idea in mind now as I explain the meaning of each symbol and then put them all together at the end…

Interpreting The Symbols

• Europe = this is a symbol with much more depth than can be fully described here but, simply put, it is a metaphor with a personal meaning which may not apply to anyone else; because I have lived and traveled extensively in Europe in my past Air Force career, it symbolically represents a familiar but still foreign type of personal journey regarding my last few years in God’s strange and somewhat unfamiliar wilderness training program which I have spoken about extensively in this series (see Hebrews 11:8-9 below).
• Highway = in the Bible, it says several times that God travels on highways, this is about being in the plan of God and making fast progress in our personal journey (I recommend doing a key word search in the Bible so you can see how many times this word appears and all its associated contextual meanings).
• American highway = switching from a foreign highway to a familiar one represents my change from the wilderness training time back into familiar territory again; as much as the last few years have been filled with confusion and obstructions, now I’m about to enter a time when things will make sense and be understandable (no longer “foreign”); this symbol also contains a dual meaning because the invention business that I will start will be built in Colorado, which is a mountainous region.
• American signs = signs represent governing rules and authority; personally, this represents my next steps where I will be dealing with various levels of the American government with all the many legal matters that are involved with building my invention company.
• Sports car = this also contains a dual meaning where 1) it represents my personal nature of doing things very fast and accurately, and 2) generally, this type of car means you are making fast progress in a positive sense and have a high powered gifting / skill.
• Turning right = this represents going by faith, especially since this was a sharp bend in the road where nothing could be seen due to the terrain restricted view; in real life, this represented the last several years where my life journey required going completely by faith for almost every day without having any income and never knowing where money was coming from or what was going to happen next.
• Merging (onto new roads) = this represents personal changes of direction; each time I did this in the dream, I had to come to a very slow speed and almost to a stop; this is an illustration of the last few years when I literally moved to a new location twice, each time hoping to get started at full speed in various aspects of my calling but each time, I had to come to a near stop for reasons that had everything to do with evil people who opposed and hindered me, trying to stop God’s plan for my life (always in financial ways).
• 2x merges = this represents 2 specific times in my life in the last few years where I moved and had to start a new personal direction; often numbers have strictly symbolic meanings but in this case, the # 2 refers literally to my 2 moves to a far away location.
• Accelerating = depending on the context, this can be positive or negative; in this case, it represents my standard nature of being very fast to start new things and get them “up to full speed” very quickly, this is a skill I have always been very good at.
• Coasting = twice in this dream, I accelerated rapidly but then had to slow down right away; these represent me wanting to get up to speed specifically with my invention business (which didn’t happen) due to being deliberately hindered and lied to about the money for the invention; the last part of the dream represents my next stage where I will now be able to build my company at a pace which depends upon several factors including hiring employees, buying the building we will need plus the raw materials and then the various governmental factors (or constraints) that I will have to work within.

Simple Interpretation

Now that we’ve dealt with the interpretation of the main symbols, let me briefly restate the overall meaning in a concise manner. This is a dream that illustrates my last few years (specifically the last 3 years). It shows how God called me to a place where nothing made sense and I had to live totally by faith. Although I was mentally prepared to get started on my invention company, other people continually hindered me and prevented me from doing the job God called me to.

However, I am now at a point where all that will change and I will be back in “familiar territory” again in many ways; the strange wilderness time has ended and my personal life will now move in a much more predictable and familiar manner (ref my invention business and all personal matters, especially in the financial aspects).

This is what it means when God calls you to walk in the same exact steps as Abraham, who had to leave all that was familiar and go completely by faith to a place God called him to. I have learned in my last 10 years that God absolutely still requires this of His true chosen people and, when we obey, we WILL be rewarded in more ways than we can imagine, including financially, as I am about to be.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
