By now, you’re probably familiar with how God often speaks to me in dreams using airplane symbols because of how very relevant they are to me as a long time pilot. The way God speaks to me is most likely very different from how He speaks to you and that serves to highlight how well He knows each of us in very personal ways. Recently, I had another of many flying dreams that had a very positive message for me about the opposition I was facing at the time of the dream. The dream contained multiple scenes, each showing different aspects of what was happening in my life and reminded me of what I needed to be doing in response. Fasten your seatbelts for takeoff because I am about to tell you my dream and how it had a very inspiring message regarding my ability to gain (and maintain) a victory over all forms of opposition.

A Multi-Part Flying Dream

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

January 2026 – I’m flying as a pilot in a Pilatus PC-12 [popular single-engine turboprop airplane] up at cruising altitude over the water, not far from the shoreline watching the sunset in the distance over the land. I see the sun slowly going down and the colors turn from yellow to orange in a beautiful scene. Next, I’m in a PC-12 again but this time, I’m “driving” it on a road getting ready to take off (as if from a runway); there’s another airplane in front of me and in the right lane that I’m passing just to the left. At the same time, there is yet another airplane coming toward me from the oncoming lane on the left. I forgot to set takeoff flaps but as soon as I did, I was able to get off the ground. Lastly, I’m in a Cessna 172 turning left on a road trying to take off again but, there’s someone chasing me in a car. I’m trying to get away from them but I’m climbing too slowly. While only a few feet in the air, I make a right turn over a field to increase the distance because the people can’t go off the road in their car and follow me. Once I do that, I turn back to the left to cut diagonally over the top of a town in order to make it even harder for them to follow me. Early dusk sky setting.

Before we break down each of the symbols in this dream, I can tell you that the overall theme indicates that I am able to overcome all opposition and evade all enemies who are trying to come after me, if I stay in a positive mindset of faith.

Interpretation Of Symbols

As you will see below, this dream contained many complex symbols that require a substantial amount of Biblical understanding to properly interpret. Here are each of the symbols interpreted…

• PC-12 airplane = a very popular Swiss-built passenger carrying business turboprop which represents myself personally in terms of a powerful personal gift / calling / ability; this aircraft symbol has appeared many times in my dreams as a reference to personal matters whereas other aircraft types I’ve seen have dealt with other aspects of my personal life and upcoming business matters (PC-12 aircraft info: www.pilatus-aircraft.com/en/pc-12).
• Cruising altitude = when an airplane is flying at a normal altitude and speed, it represents a person who is living their life according to their “high calling” and by the Spirit; if an airplane is flying too low or too slow, it can indicate problems in the person’s life and being weighed down by circumstances that are troubling them.
• Sunset = a complex symbol which: 1) Biblically, this represents the beginning of a new day; because this sunset was over land, it represents new things about to begin in the natural, earthly realm; 2) patience, due to the slow movement of time, 3) paying attention to / being thankful for the beautiful things of God’s creation in everyday life.  
• Shoreline = this puts two realms together (the earth / land and the spirit / water); flying near the meeting point of both illustrates perfectly how I have kept my focus primarily on spiritual things (over water) and secondarily on earthly business matters since that is what God led me to do each day during the past couple years.
• Overwater flight = (the airplane was flying over water, not over land) this validates that God wanted me to focus more on spiritual matters than on natural earthly pursuits, which is exactly as I have been doing.
• Takeoff flaps = for those not familiar with flying airplanes, this type aircraft requires extra lift from the wings at low speeds to enable takeoff; in symbolic terms, this represents engaging in spiritual activities to keep the mindset in a positive state of faith and peace, not in chaos, anxiety, worry and other negative, flesh-filled mindsets which ultimately waste time and accomplish nothing and keep you stuck in the limitations of the earth / flesh.
• Road = trying to take off in an airplane from a road represents a personal journey which must be lived up high “in the Spirit” as opposed to being stuck in the limited earthly flesh realm.
• Passing an airplane = (going in my direction in different lane) although this was harder to connect with a real life person / situation, it generally represents making faster progress by going “up” in the Spirit rather than by being held down by the limitations of the earthly flesh realm; a person who lives their life in the flesh will always be severely limited in all they do as would an airplane driving on the ground versus flying up high in the air where it should be.
• Oncoming airplane = this airplane was in the oncoming lane to my left (not in my lane) and as such it indicates person(s) who have been opposing me but will not have any ability to stop me in my pursuits.
• Cessna 172 = this is a much smaller airplane with a much smaller engine, as such it represents a person (myself) operating at a weak level of power, far below what I am capable of at this stage of my development (Cessna 172 info: https://cessna.txtav.com/en/piston/cessna-skyhawk).
• Left turn = most of the time, when you are making a turn in a dream, the left means that you are doing things according to the flesh (bad) and the right means you are doing things according to the Spirit and in faith (very good); as you can see here, it means I have been thinking in the flesh rather than by faith in the Spirit.
• Slow climb = this represents my difficulty in getting up away from the limitations of the flesh / natural earthly world because I had been allowing negative circumstances to weigh me down.
• Maneuvering = although I was unable to “climb” quickly and rise above the negative circumstances ongoing at the time, I still managed to escape certain evildoers who were coming after me, although with some difficulty due to my lack of being in the Spirit; sometimes we must get wisdom from God to escape our enemies.
• Chased by car = this represented evil persons who dwell in the flesh in the earthly realm; they are incapable of operating in the Spirit, and as such are easily overcome / escaped from as long as we are operating in the fullness of the Spirit….

Very Positive Message At The Right Time

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:6 (KJV)

By now, you might know that when God is getting ready to shift you into the new season of your life, there can often be a ton of chaos and negative circumstances coming against you. Several years ago, I heard Pastor Bill Johnson (Bethel Church, Redding, CA) say something to the effect that God’s version of order is our version of chaos in the same way as the birthing of a child. At this time in my life, I am not yet familiar with child birth but, it’s sort of obvious that a baby comes into the world by a ton of labor pains and all sorts of chaos (ie: not a peaceful time). In spiritual terms, when God is trying to “birth” something new in our life, there will be many metaphorical parallels with a natural child birth.

At the time of my dream, I can tell you that there have been no shortage of circumstances trying to “push” me into my next season. In fact, a close friend of mine was telling me about a relative who was on the verge of being an overdue for the birth of their new baby girl. Just before writing this, the baby was finally born and my friend knew that it was a prophetic sign of her own “birthing” into her new stage of life. Because of the closeness of the connection between myself and this friend, I knew it was also a sign for me as well.

In light of various forms of negative circumstances going on in my life at the time, God was using this 3-part flying dream to show me that I am able to overcome all opposition and attacks by doing exactly what the symbols indicated. God was reminding me that I will not be stopped by any direct opposition and no one “coming after me” will be able to catch me as long as I remain in faith and remember that there is no defeat in God’s plan for our life!

All those who truly know the significance of what Jesus accomplished on the cross and His resurrection know that we have the power to overcome everything that the devil and human flesh can throw at us. This is a theme I have developed several times in these episodes and I have emphasized that in all my previous decades of American churches, I was never taught any of this. God’s plan for us is always victory and the Bible clearly says so many times. Anyone who does not understand this has a bunch of religion but no real Jesus (as I used to be).

This dream was my answer to many questions about how things would ultimately work out for me and whether or not I was going to be defeated by any of the circumstances (or evil actions by certain persons) at the time. This dream also came at a time when many other confirmations were given in the form of visions and a prophetic word about all the things I and my wife have waited a very long time for.

Rather than tell any more about what’s going on at this time, check back in another episode or two where I hope to say a few more words about how well things worked out, especially in light of this dream and the confirmation God gave me that I am able to overcome everything that has been trying to stop me or drag me down. I’m very much looking forward to what comes next!!
