I’ve noticed a pattern that has played out several times in my life just in the last few years. It’s a pattern that operates like a cycle just as seasons do. Each time it comes around, the issue is the same, but the circumstance is different. And with each cycle of revolutions of this repeated theme, there comes an opportunity. It’s one that I have not always done so well with. Sometimes, because the challenge was so new to me but others, because I got worn out on the repetitive nature of the issue. We need to talk about this today because it’s a circumstance that many people mistake as God’s punishment when in fact, I’ve learned by experience that it is God’s way of trying to bring back something in us that was lost thousands of years ago. Let’s get started…
May The Faith Be With You
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
Deuteronomy 8:3 (KJV)
In my book and video series, Marvel Dream Revelations, I tell a story about how God used a horrible and embarrassing situation with a car purchase to try to recreate something in me that the modern day church knows nothing about. It’s not that I haven’t written about this many times before but today, I want to use something I’ve been learning as a refresher for myself and a new lesson for those who have never heard this ancient mystery before. In order to deal with this lesson properly, we need to set the proper context. See, when we get into serious challenges in our life, we usually forget the most important basics. Here’s what I mean…
Around 6,000 years ago, Adam and Eve were put on this earth. They were created by God in perfection and were given abilities to exercise dominion over everything that exists on earth. You can look all this up in Genesis chapter 1 so I won’t repeat all that here. Dominion over the earth means far more than what you may have been told. It means full scale control over everything that goes on here, even down to the very elements of creation. Effectively, they had the same powers over nature that Jesus exercised in the Gospels — turning water into wine, changing the weather, speaking things into existence, etc. Elijah, Elisha, Ezekiel, Joshua, and Moses had much of that as well. Splitting seas or rivers, calling down fire, causing metal to float in water, instantly removing poisons from food, etc. These manifestations are examples of what dominion over the earth is.
Today, we have this coincidentally odd surge of such ‘superhuman’ abilities in movies. We see people moving things with their minds, causing powers to shoot from their hands, transforming into animals or transporting themselves instantly to far away locations. As I wrote in my Marvel Dream Revelations book, my question stands… where do you think humans got the imagination to create movies like this from? We were made in the image and likeness of God and that means something. Image means we have a face, hands, legs, and mouth just like God. Likeness means that we were created to do the same things God does, just on a smaller scale.
If Adam and Eve had not followed Satan’s deception, there is no telling what the universe might have looked like if sin had not entered into humanity. The dominion Adam and Eve had would have been passed to each of their offspring and today, we would all have been born with god-like abilities. Hmmm… I’ll let you look this up yourself but Jesus, quoting from the psalms, DID say something about that in one of the Gospels.
Nothing Shall Be Impossible
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 17:20 (KJV)
So now with this very brief stage-setting introduction, we fast forward to today. You know my story already because of how many times I’ve told it here in all my writings. You know how God deliberately put me in a situation where I was not allowed to have any job or to make any money in traditional ways. He required me to use up all my money and to live in circumstances where others had to provide my basic necessities. Talk about unbelievably unpleasant!!
God used those circumstances, not as a punishment but, because He was trying to bring back what was lost 6,000 years ago at the sin of Adam and Eve. Stop and think about that… Adam and Eve had total dominion over the earth, which meant they had no lack of anything. All of nature obeyed them because they sat in the seat of a divine emperor with rule over everything. If they wanted a mango, they could either cause it to grow instantly or transport themselves to the place where they naturally grew. Material necessities were simply not a problem for them and until they sinned, the lack of such never entered into their minds.
But that’s not how we live today, is it? Most of us live every day of our lives lacking something. Instead of going back to the beginning and remembering what we lost, we get into fear, anxiety, panic and many negative toxic emotions that destroy us and those around us. Trust me, I’ve been there. I know that one all too well.
Jesus tells us in the Gospels (Luke 6:45, Matthew 12:34) that “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks”. He says that our mouth is used for good or for evil. It can create things or destroy them, all by the words that proceed from our mouths. And our mouth only speaks what was in our hearts to begin with.
So, many times, because of the circumstances God required me to live in, I’ve had to choose whether to speak positive things that brought what I needed to me or I could choose to speak negativity based on what I was lacking. If you’re wondering how well I did, go back and read my Marvel Dream Revelations book and this entire Supernatural Entrepreneur series all over again. I think you get the idea. How many times did I speak according to the knowledge of how we were before the sin of Adam and Eve versus how many times did I speak and act according to the fallen state of humanity for 6,000 years?? How many times did my faith (or lack thereof) influence those around me in a positive or negative way??
If you’ve never had the opportunity to live under the kinds of conditions I’m talking about, then you have no idea how hard it is to bring back something that has been mostly missing on earth for 6,000 years. Hardly anyone around you will be doing the kinds of things I’m talking about here. You are going to be hard pressed to see people speaking positive things into existence, especially in a world filled with negativity and fear mongering.
I don’t want to get into this here but the modern day church has chosen to accept a watered down gospel that produces no miracles, nor the earnest desire for them to operate through us on a daily basis. As a result, the world thinks the church (and its God) is a mockery and a bunch of dead religion that only morons follow every week. Yep… Let’s be honest. Look around. Where do you see anything that makes you remember all that I said above here? Where do you see people going after God in such ways as to bring back and restore all that was lost at the fall of humanity?
In practical terms, this is a serious problem that the church has failed to recognize. When God gives us the opportunity to recreate that lost, ancient faith, what do we do? Do we do the hard work to transform our mind back to the original state or do we let “reality” around us dictate what is and what is not possible for us?
No Good Thing…?
For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
Psalms 84:11-12 (KJV)
I’ve been seeing in my immediate vicinity, examples of those who are positive and those who are negative. Those who speak negativity according to their circumstances and a very few who speak positively by faith. I’ve had to do the hard work of transformation in my own mind when I lacked things and I can tell you it is no easy feat (especially the way I grew up). Over time, I have developed my faith quite remarkably such that I can comfortably exist in conditions of lack with far less anxiety and panic over how I’m going to get even the most basic of necessities on a weekly basis. I cannot say I have receive a perfect grade in these experiences but, over time, I have developed a level of faith I never thought possible for me.
So, let’s make sure we are closing the loop here on this most critical subject in this episode. Your mouth speaks what is in your heart. Your heart is either evil or good according to the words of Jesus. Either you respond to challenges with a good heart of faith or you respond with an evil heart of unbelief (Hebrews 3:12).
Either you know the true heart of God, which is to give good things to those who truly follow Him, or you go the empty way of the fallen world and live like beasts who know not their original created state.
HOW FAR WE HAVE FALLEN!!
We casually trade death for life, unbelief for faith, toxic negativity for the words of Jesus — “nothing shall be impossible for you”. And we do so willingly because this is what we truly desire!! How sad. How miserable. What a waste of a life. Is this you?
I know what this is like. I know how easily our eyes deceive us. We believe what we see in our bank accounts more than what the God who created everything tells us. This transformation is not easy. From death and unbelief to faith and life. Very hard.
But remember… Go back to the origin. The original state of humanity. Divine image and likeness. Dominion and power. No good thing withheld. Nothing shall be impossible…
Which will you choose when the challenges arise? Which words will your mouth speak? Which heart will you show to the world around you? Choose today. And every day thereafter. I’m working on it myself, and getting better all the time.
…Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Luke 18:8 (KJV)
