The Secret Life Of A Supernatural Entrepreneur: Standing at the Border of the Promised Land (Episode 110)

Winding dirt road through snow-dusted green hills and mountain valley

Welcome back again to The Secret Life of a Supernatural Entrepreneur. We’re moving forward from our recent break and this is Episode 110, where I want to say up front what it is and what it isn’t. This is the final episode of the Volume 2 book which these last 55 episodes make up. This is not the end of the series. It’s the end of a chapter, and in a moment I’ll explain why that matters.

Since this is the closing out of Volume 2, I want to take a look at everything again from a big picture perspective which will help set you up for the beginning of Volume 3 that begins immediately after this episode. Some of what I say here must be lightly repeated from the past because there are critical keys that most people do not understand about discovering and fulfilling their true destiny in life.

Shifting of Seasons

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Genesis 50:20 (KJV)

Volume 2 began with an episode called “Transitioning Into The Next Season.” It ends with the last episode, where I talked about recovery and transformation. That’s a lot of ground to cover in 55 episodes, so I want to step back and look at what this stretch of the road has shown me.

When I look at the whole run, you can put it all into roughly four movements.

The first was rupture and transition. This is where everything changed, where the road I’d been sprinting down ended, and I had to learn what to do when the plan collapses. Patience was not optional. It was the assignment.

The second was testing. Episodes about trials, about having your reputation mean nothing, about validation coming through pressure and not through comfort. There were times when, after 11 years in this process, that I finally felt like I would give all this up if God gave me a second option. That’s what “I Was Ready To Check Out” (episode 70) was all about.

The third was revelation and progress. This is where I told how certain parts of the invention became clearer, where dreams and visions confirmed the design, and where some episodes carried a simple message: we are moving forward.

The fourth was pressure and refinement when it seems like nothing is happening and a mindset of ruthlessness toward anything that opposes what God said is required. Learning to be grateful for the people who opposed me, and learning that circumstances don’t get to overrule what I was shown. Most of what I had to go through was absolutely horrible and processing out of it did not happen overnight. And then 109, where I finally said a little about what it took to recover from the astonishingly negative situations I’ve experienced in these last several years.

If you want the full map of the themes across this series, I put them all in one post, “The Ongoing Story: 12 Primary Themes.”

Here’s the thread that ties all of it together: Joseph. The pit, the prison, and the palace. That pattern has been the frame for this entire series, because it’s the only pattern I know that explains why a person can be given a very high calling and then spend years in circumstances that look like the opposite of it. This is where most people fail — they fail to understand what’s going on with themselves and others around them fail to correctly see that God is very much in the process of working out His great plan for their life.

Keeping My Focus on the Positive

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Luke 6:28 (KJV)

And I want you to know something about how I’ve walked this road. Through all of it, the lies, the mistreatment, and the people who kept acting in the most abominable ways, I made a decision to keep my focus on the positive. That doesn’t mean I pretended the negatives weren’t real or that I did not have days when I was very angry at those who severely mistreated me. You’ve heard me describe all that. It means that over and over, even while people continued to act horribly toward me, I prayed for a positive outcome. Most of the time, the evil behavior didn’t change at all and I still struggled to make that choice to stay positive.

Where you keep your focus decides what you carry out of the fight. Offense will tell you to focus on what was done to you. God’s calling says focus on what’s ahead. I couldn’t control how people treated me, but I could control where I aimed my attention and what I prayed for. That’s the same spirit behind Episode 101, “Thank You To All My Oppressors.” Gratitude and a positive focus weren’t a reaction to things getting better. They were a decision I made while things were still very bad. Knowing that I was playing out a modern-day Biblical pattern of immense greatness helped me stay positive.

Knowledge of Biblical Patterns Is Critical

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Hosea 4:6 (KJV)

See, the thing is, most people who have huge prophecies and dreams about their lives never accomplish them because they lack the knowledge of what must be done to make those things happen in real life. For a dream to come out of the spiritual realm where God shows you amazing things and into the natural realm (where those things actually happen on earth) requires specific practical actions. I’ve been doing them — all of them. And I’ve been documenting them all here. This is what it looks like. And there’s much more to tell which I have not said anything about yet (that’s why this series continues indefinitely).

Too many people have gone to their grave having accomplished absolutely nothing God intended for them (and for the world). In fact, most people never come anywhere near what God planned for them. Failure to ask the right questions. Failure to follow through on His instructions in dreams and Holy Spirit inspired ideas. Failure to connect with the spiritual leadership He requires rather than breaking off from them like Lucifer. It’s a much more serious problem than you would ever know. That is one of the top reasons why God gave me this writing assignment.

Standing at the Border

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Hebrews 10:36 (KJV)

So where am I in that story today?

I’ll be honest with you. I’m not in the palace yet. But I’m in the late stages of getting there. I can see the promised land, and I’m standing at the border of it. What I’ve learned is that it is not as simple as walking across one line.

There are two victories for me, and they come in order. The first is my own personal victory, the breakthrough I’ve been walking toward all these years. God has shown my wife and I that it’s coming, and I know it’s close. The second is the company, Blue Cube Rocket as an actual, functioning business. That second one may be a little ways off, and there are many complex steps in between. I’m not going to pretend otherwise, because I’d rather tell you the truth than give you a victory lap that hasn’t happened yet.

What I can tell you is what this run has given me that I didn’t have before. I did not understand that God is behind the evil treatment by people who should have known better because it is a required part of His process. It does not mean He approves of them, or that they will not face eternal punishment, but that it is part of His chastising process. Jesus had to go through this. Joseph had to go through this. So did Moses (plus a few others).

Just because you start off at a sprint and run right into a wall, does not mean you did anything wrong. I had to learn that myself. I had to really get it in my head that I was in fact following the same exact Biblical patterns of the great men in the Bible. But I also had to recognize that God had in fact called me to something far bigger than I imagined or felt I was deserving of.

That’s why the title of this Volume 2 is The Battle For The Promised Land. The battle was to get to this border, and to get there as a different person than the one who started. That’s what the volume documents.

Which brings me to what comes next. Volume 3 begins with the next series of episodes, and it covers the crossing itself: the personal breakthrough first, and then the steps that follow toward the company. I’m not going to promise you how or when it plays out. What I’ll promise is that I’ll keep telling you the truth as everything happens, including the parts that are complicated. I’m walking into Volume 3 the same way I walked through Volume 2: focused on the positive, and praying for the best outcome for everyone involved, even those the devil has used against me.

If you want everything I couldn’t say in these public episodes, including the full account of details I’ve generalized here, it’s in the actual book, SLSE Volume 2: The Battle For The Promised Land.

What’s Coming Next?

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

In the coming episodes, there are many things you can expect me to write about. I know for a fact that I will be telling more personal details about my process in the same way as I have up to this point. I will tell more about my dreams when they are relevant to my journey. I will tell more about real-life circumstances I am experiencing as a supernatural entrepreneur in walking out my invention business, Blue Cube Rocket.

Most importantly, each and every one of these episodes can contain something you need for your own journey, regardless of what kind of calling and purpose God has for you. Remember that God gave me this writing assignment for the dual purposes of: 1) working out my own experiences at a greater level in writing, and 2) expressing all those personal lessons to many others.

Thank you for walking this road with me. It’s been 110 episodes, and the story isn’t finished. I’ll see you in Volume 3 where I expect we’ll cross over into the promised land and expect the same Biblical patterns to repeat there as we see when Joshua brought his people into all that God had intended for them.
